Homemade Lavender Shortbread - Μπισκότα Λεβαντας

Homemade lavender shortbread cookies biscuits, σπιτικά μπισκότα λεβάντας
If you read this post about my love for these lavender shortbread cookies, then you'll be not surprised by my obsession on having my cupboard constantly filled with these little babies. I promised myself I would find a way to bake these at home, not being willing to spend my salary on the ready-made ones, and I think I did it!

Love at first bite: Lavender Shortbread

Lavender Shortbread cookies scotland and cute box packaging
Now I know, it seems absurd to dedicate a whole blog post to some biscuits, an ordinary product that I accidentally found waving at me from Marks & Spencer's shelves. Oh, they may be anything but ordinary. The "Lavender" writing alone was more than enough for me to be intrigued. And then I saw the package. How can a person resist this lovely, metal lavender box that makes you dream of lavender fields and be reused in all possible ways?

Hot Tomato Soup

cooking food soup tomato dish

I've grown really fond of soup lately, which still amazes me, as I've hated it all my life. Funny how getting older makes you change in so many ways. Anyway, I visited the Sputnik Prose blog the other day and I saw that Lacy, also fond of soup, made a lovely hot recipe despite the summer weather. I immediately knew I had to make a soup, too - preferably my all-time favourite tomato soup that I love making in the summer when tomatoes are fresh and juicy.

Pink Spring Pasta

I had a wild kitchen inspiration moment the other day - the one that you say I-will-either-devour-or-throw-away-my-food kind of inspiration. Sounds familiar? Well, it so happened that some canned food was in the fridge for about 5 days and I wanted to use it before it was too late. Don't imagine canned beans though! It was canned beets and canned roasted red peppers. I am pretty sure that this recipe will be even better with fresh beets (boiled of course) and homemade roasted red peppers. In any case, here's the result:

pink spring pasta beets red peppers garlic onion feta cheese olive oil pesto
You'll have to be so kind as to excuse this terrible photo, I just couldn't imagine it would be so yummy to be blog material! If you care to give it a try, it will only take 5 minutes.

Glam up your salad

Salads are good. Salads are healthy. Salads at home are boring. It's a fact. How many times have you ordered a salad and it was so yummy that you felt like eating it all by yourself? And how many times did you make a salad at home trying hard to eat even a descent amount without success? I, for one, have experienced this too many times.

Comfort soup

Comfort food for evah!
All-time classic!
It's pretty cold outside and I can't think of anything better and more comforting than the classic kreatosoupa (meat soup). I remember my mum cooking this and all our cοlds magically erased. Of course many of you should have warm memories of this delicious dish early in the morning after a long night of partying, drinking and dancing like mad! It's super easy and, believe me, absolutely rewarding.
